Keep in mind, if you truly want to experience these games, buying an Nvidia Shield is the way to go. Also, if you’re really old school and hipster, check out playing half life on android wear. This tutorial is very similar to my previous GlTools tutorial on how to play Portal on Android. Luckily, using the app GlTools, you can emulate the Tegra graphics driver on your device. Unfortunately, not everyone owns a device that is running the Tegra cpu. Half Life 2 exists as an exclusive for Nvidia’s Shield device.
If you are lucky enough to own an Nvidia Tegra device (such as the Shield) then you can completely ignore this tutorial because it doesn’t apply to you.
It must be said that the games are only available on the Shield for now, which in a way is understandable since you’d need a controller to properly enjoy them and the Shield comes with one built-in.Let’s talk about playing Half Life 2 on Android. Both Portal and Half-Life 2 are available on the Play Store for $9.99 each. I’m sure most of you have played these games in the past on the PC but if you happen to have a Shield you can now relive them in the palm of your hands. And when you though it couldn’t get better, Portal came in and again did something completely different.
